Sweet-osmanthus flower


Osmanthus is often added to other teas to enhance the flavor with a fruity nature. Osmanthus flower tea is prepared by steeping 1 teaspoon of dried flower in 8 ounces of boiling water for 10 minutes. A decoction of the bark and root of the Osmanthus has been used in Chinese medicine to treat boils and carbuncles, bruises and rheumatism. It is said that a cup of Osmanthus flower tea promotes beautiful skin. Osmanthus flowers are used in other herbal remedies to help mask undesirable taste.
